The son of leading Italian architect and designer Mario Bellini, Claudio Bellini is based in Milan and graduated in architecture and industrial design from Milan Polytechnic in 1990.

In 1987 he began working with his father at Mario Bellini Associati where he became an integral part of projects from architecture to industrial and furniture design. In 1997 he founded Atelier Bellini and many of his designs have received prestigious international awards: He has collaborated with various companies in Italy including Driade, Artemide, and Fiam, as well as Vitra.
