Edra on show at DesignWorld, Design Museum, Helsinki

The Favela Chair and Cabana Storage unit from Italian brand Edra have been selected to feature in DesignWorld, an exhibition organised by the Design Museum in Helsinki.

The exhibition showcases products, concepts and prototypes that highlight how living with design enriches our lives.

Designed by Fernando and Humberto Campana, the Favela armchair was inspired by the local favelas (shanty towns) which surround their native Sao Paolo and is made from pieces of natural wood glued and nailed together by hand. The Cabana storage container, inspired by the barbarians in the first century AD, consists of five shelves entirely concealed by dangling lengths of fire-proofed raffia.
