In May 2006, Space Furniture host Patricia Urquiolas first trip to Australia to be the special guest for the Italian Design Festival.

The festival was launched with a very special installation at Space which saw a canpoy of colourful weave cover the entry area and stairs throughout the Showroom, a nod to Patricia’s Spanish heritage and her focus onhand made and craft which permeate her designs.

Patricia launched a very special exhibition Voi Tutti  (For all of You) curated at the National Art School in Darlinghurst. Voi Tutti featured 20 leading Australian personalities and their favorite piece of Italian design.

Other highlights of the week included a hotly attended design talk by Patricia at The Powerhouse Museum, as well as a kids design workshop, which many parents and children who attend Space’s workshops today still remember fondly as well as a popular talk from Megan Morton at Space Furniture, A stylist’s secrets (via Italy) revealing her favourite Italian hotspots in Sydney for collectable antiques, contemporary design, art, quirky homewares, fresh produce, even a great Italian barber.
