The upholstery, developed by Bethan Laura Wood herself, draws on her residency in a Venetian palazzo, where in 2010 she was struck by the endless variations of the terrazzo floors. From that memory comes an exclusive fabric in which gemstone fragments seem to break free from the aggregate and settle on the surface. Terrazzo Quarry translates surface into volume and pattern into landscape, blurring the line between two and three dimensions, between illusion and structure, and encouraging interaction, climbing, and rest.
