Stefano Giavannoni was born in 1954 in La Spezia in Italy, and studied Architecture at the University of Florence, graduating in 1978. It was here that the concept of 'radical architecture' was born, and created a new language and vision for designers and architects, providing Giavannoni with his biggest influences. His process and design is identified by his penchant for cleverness, and innovative use of materials and original thinking. Working as an architect, interior designer and industrial designer, Giavannoni runs his self-named studio, Giavannoni Design, based in Milan, and has worked with some of the most internationally renowned companies, including Moooi, Alessi, Flos and Magis. His most iconic works are in the permanent collections of the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris, and the MoMA in New York.
