What's happening in-store?

For the first instalment in our front window series for 2024, we celebrate art and nature with In the Meadows, a collection of beautiful, mesmerising rugs for Moooi Carpets by Stockholm-based artist and illustrator Emma Larsson.

Inspired by nature’s shapes, colours and patterns, the collection depicts the wonders found in nature. With whimsical and abstract shapes, each carpet depicts the ethereal worlds of 18th century aquarelle art, the bright and soft colours an ode to nature’s variety.

Nature is an endless source of inspiration, it has been so for centuries for writers, artists, designers and musicians. Coveted and cherished it is as close to magic as we will ever experience. Striking the balance between colourful dreamscape and melancholy, Larsson reveals a world of abstract shapes inspired by the beauty that nature surrounds us with every day.

The act of painting informed the theme of the window. An artist's studio where paintings and rugs coexist. It was about taking the viewer to a place of creativity and curiosity. The canvas walls, the plinths with bronze works, the paint brushes, and, of course, the rug as a finished artwork featuring Larsson's signature aquarelle-style.
