#hometogether – Miffy Coady

Est magazine’s Miffy Coady takes More Space inside her new home/office, where she is balancing homeschooling, parenting and business, has just launched the latest issue of Est magazine remotely, is cooking Sugo di Pomodoro by chef Maurizio Terzini and re-learning the piano by teaching her 8-year old son Jack.

Where are you working from at the moment?

From a new double desk set up in the middle of our living/kitchen zone in our Malvern home. We have two new team members on the Est virtual team, a-k-a homeschooling. Right now parenting and business skills are being put to the ultimate test.

Can you share with us any of the projects you are working on?

The team launched the latest issue of Est magazine – issue #36 – while working from home. Team skills were tested! Visits are up 450%, so we’re now responding to consumer demand for home-oriented content.

Do you have a favourite room or nook of the house?

Our kitchen is central to the pace and lifestyle we're currently living. I'm so thankful for the space right now, we can open up the entire back half of our home to the outdoors.

If you have something from the Space collection, what do you love about it?

I love our Diesis coffee table designed by Antonio Citterio. It is one of the first B&B Italia pieces we purchased more than 15 years ago. It's central to our living space and currently covered in my favourite cookbooks, an ongoing chess game, LEGO and toys. It doesn't always look this neat, in fact quite the opposite.

Is there a special recipe you are enjoying?

My favourite is Sugo di Pomodoro by Maurizio Terzini from 'Something Italian'. It's the ultimate cooking base, in particular for pasta and pizza, consumed in all of his successful restaurants including Icebergs Bondi.

Your go-to playlist?

Est launched playlists last year and all of the four we produced are on repeat in our home. The most recent is an upbeat curation by the musical talent of Melbourne DJ and music director Will Pyett.

Are you making the most of isolation by learning a new skill, or rekindling a hobby?

I've always wanted to start playing the piano (again). So weekends have been spent teaching Jack, my 8-year-old to play while firing up my inner musician at the same time. Our home learning school bell is a song Jack has taught himself.

About #hometogether

We’re all adapting to our ‘new normal’, staying home, but trying to stay connected. To help keep our community together we have invited our clients and friends to share what they are doing. How they are working, their tips, thoughts and ideas, and if you’re up for it, a few fun secrets too.

Each week we will release a new series for you to enjoy. To get in involved share your photos with #hometogether #alifeindividual and don’t forget to tag us @spacefurniture
