Kartell
Bookworm Medium Shelf
Bookworm, the flexible bookcase, is the result of the encounter between the creativity of an artist such as Ron Arad, combined with Kartell's technology, giving life to a revolutionary project produced on an industrial scale. A sinuous bookcase that takes on the desired shape without compromising strength and functionality. Available in three different lengths, Bookworm is marked by a series of bookend supports. Bookworm combines flexibility and high strength allowing a load of about 10 kg per support.
REMINDER: If the intended wall for the bookshelf is made of gyprock with timber frame the only suited Bookworm style is circular - Why? Because the weight distribution of the books needs to be in this close and solid shape - this keeps the weight evenly placed. However, a concrete or brick wall can have the "S" or "worm" style. Each shelf can hold a TOTAL of: 7 Kilograms
Materials
Structure material: Mass-Coloured And “Flame Retardant” Pvc

Kartell
Kartell is the world’s leading manufacturer of plastic design classics. Since the advent of this new material in 1950, Kartell has worked with designers to make plastic engaging and comfortable. Componibili was one of the first pieces launched and is still in production today. Colour is Kartell’s trademark, but in 2001 they perfected transparent plastic with the Louis Ghost chair by Philippe Starck. Louis Ghost is now their number one selling chair.
Ron Arad
Ron Arad's constant experimentation with the possible uses of materials such as steel, aluminium or polyamide, and his radical re-conception of the form and structure of furniture, has put him at the forefront of contemporary design. Alongside his limited edition studio work, Ron Arad designs for many leading international companies including: Serralunga, Kartell, Vitra, Moroso, Fiam, Driade, Alessi, Cappellini, iGuzzini and Magis among others. His current architectural commissions range from hotel projects in Italy, Spain, England and Mexico, to a design museum in Israel. Arad is the winner of numerous design awards and his work appears in many public collections worldwide. In 2009 he finishes 12 years as Professor of Design Product at the Royal College of Art in London.
