Materials

Structure: Metal and poplar plywood.
Springing: Seat and backrest elastic straps.
Structure upholstery: Shaped polyurethane with differentiated density / polyester slip cover.
Backrest cushion: Regenerated polyester fibre (GRS certification).
Armrests upholstery: Moulded polyurethane foam / polyester slip cover.
Feet: Black lacquered aluminium and adhesive felt.
Cover: Fabric. Not removable cover. Sofa composed by separate units. Piping can never be made in velvet and will never be regular along the shapes of the sofa.

In 1947, a group of technicians based in Pirelli in Italy began experimenting with new materials and technologies in the creation of cutting-edge, modern furniture. This was the beginning of the Arflex brand, established on the meeting of technology and aesthetic sensibilities, and driven by a high level of research and experimentation. Officially presented to the public in 1951, Arflex quickly gained recognition for their manufacturing philosophy.
