Aldo Londi

Born in Montelupo Fiorentino in 1911, Aldo Londi was a painter and sculptor but above all a ceramicist. For more than fifty years he worked with Bitossi, first as artistic director and later as a contributor, his expertise and artistic sensitivity combined with a natural inclination for exploration that led to bold experiments and a new expressive language.

His Rimini Blu series for Bitossi, produced continuously since 1959, is engraved by hand beneath a bright blue crystalline glaze, its marks evoking the play of light on the sea, from vases and bowls to the Elephant.
