India Mahdavi
Architect, designer and set designer India Mahdavi lives and works in Paris, where she founded her studio in 2000 on the rue Las Cases. Its international projects span architecture, interior design, set design, furniture and objects. Multilingual and polychromatic, she is renowned for environments that combine modern comfort and elegance with colour and humour, a cross-cultural art de vivre.
For Gebrüder Thonet Vienna she drew the Loop chairs and banquette with the charm of a single unbroken pencil line, followed by the Mickey lounge chair, named for its mouse-like “ears”.
