Jae Yong Kim

Jae Yong Kim, born in Seoul in 1973, is an artist known for quirky, eclectic and humorous ceramic works and installations. Raised partly in Kuwait and Saudi Arabia, he moved to the United States in 1994 to study, and in 2008, in a time of deep self-doubt, found in the doughnut a simple, joyful vehicle for his questions about happiness and home.

His Heart Donut, from the Donut Fear collection for Moooi Carpets, lives on in Mixing Pixels of Heart Donut, reworked by Ruben de Haas with every detail kept.
