Nao Tamura

Nao Tamura is a designer whose work crosses cultures, languages, disciplines and styles, shaped by the creative communities of Tokyo and New York City. Her solutions balance innovation and beauty, and have earned awards including the iF Design Award, the Good Design Award and The One Show. She has spoken at TED and at the Salone del Mobile.

She made her debut with Porro in 2024 with the Origata bench and console, monolithic pieces inspired by the making of kimonos, which received an Honourable Mention at the XXIX Compasso d’Oro in 2026.
