Moor Chaise Longue
By its very nature, a chaise longue is a piece designed to follow the body, supporting it in a relaxed and extended posture while offering optimal comfort. In Moor, this principle takes shape through a structure that becomes the distinctive feature of the project: it unfolds as a sensual and organic loop on which the rattan weaving is stretched, creating a continuous surface that gently receives the body. The woven rattan introduces warmth and tactility, while allowing the form to remain light and breathable. Particular attention was given to the design of the legs, which were conceived so as not to interrupt the rhythm of this flowing gesture. Their discreet presence allows the continuity of the loop to remain clear and uninterrupted. The result is an essential presence, in which each element contributes to strengthening the clarity of the sign and the overall harmony of the form. Ergonomically conceived, comfort is an essential aspect of the project: Moor naturally invites moments of rest and relaxation, accompanying the body with a sense of ease and support. Moor is designed to live both indoors and outdoors, maintaining the same balance between structure, material expression and comfort.

Vincent Van Duysen
Vincent Van Duysen was born in Lokeren, Belgium in 1962, and took a degree in architecture at the Higher Institute of Architecture Sint-Lucas, in Ghent. In 1990 he opened his own studio in Antwerp, concentrating on the field of architecture. Most of his designs originate from his architectural projects, developing furniture from an architect’s point of view which means starting from space rather than shape. His designs refer to primary forms or historical objects, redefining them in a contemporary way. The balance between shape and vision is an important aspect in his work as well as durability and functionality, comfort. However Vincent is not afraid of aesthetics, for him it is an essential part of the ‘art de vivre’, the emotional side of architecture. His furniture collaborations include the VVD collection for B&B Italia launched in 2002. The first monograph on his work was released in 2001 edited by GG Editorial in Spain, the second monograph released by Thames & Hudson in 2010.
