Folds... they are everywhere: a napkin on the table, the clothing you wear, or a bag floating in the wind. I find them fascinating and beautiful. The simple and unexpected compositions of the Folds attract my attention. I isolate and magnify a fold to create a unique and stunning new shape. By applying the ‘trompe l’oeil’ technique, they appear almost three dimensional but this is an optical illusion.

As well as collaborating with big name designers (the likes of Front, Bertjan Pot, Marcel Wanders and Studio Job have all presented designs as part of the brand's first collection), possibly the most exciting part of Moooi Carpets is the ability for anyone to design a rug and have it manufactured, regardless of size, scale or specification.
