Angelo Mangiarotti
Angelo Mangiarotti (1921-2012) was one of the great figures of 20th-century Italian design, working at every scale from architecture to design and sculpture. He graduated in architecture from the Politecnico di Milano in 1948, met Wright, Gropius and Mies van der Rohe in the United States in 1953-54, and in 1955 founded a Milan studio with Bruno Morassutti.
His research into gravity joints ran from the Eros marble tables of 1971 to Eccentrico in 1979, and in 1994 he received the Compasso d’Oro career award. Since 2010 Agapecasa has produced his work as the Mangiarotti Collection.
