Antonino Sciortino
Antonino Sciortino was born in 1962 in Bagheria, near Palermo, and learned the blacksmith’s trade at eight in his brother’s workshop. He then trained in dance in Palermo and became a television dancer and choreographer, choreographing for Ricky Martin and Julio Iglesias.
Approaching forty, he returned to iron and in 2003 opened his workshop on Via Savona in Milan. He now lives and works between Milan and Noto, forging furniture, lighting, objects and sculpture. For Baxter he designed the Ginestra Vestita chaise longue and chairs, the Girgenti sofa and the Leggia and Tia seating.
