Cristina Celestino’s soft and enveloping touch exalts Billiani’s materials and know-how with pure colours, corners that turn into delicate curves and bulb-end legs. Although designed for the contract market, Frisée expresses a cultured and sophisticated lightness that gives a nod to the world of cabinet making.

Billiani
We have produced wooden chairs in Italy for over a century, in a region of small specialized workshops where the culture of wood has deep roots.
The Billiani company was founded in 1911 to produce chairs in curved wood with caning. In 2019 Cristina Celestino, an architect and designer based in Milan, was appointed as the company’s artistic director. The chair is still a central focus, as is the material: wood, the true leitmotif of the collection.
