Bruno Morassutti

Bruno Morassutti (1920-2008) was born in Padua and studied architecture at the IUAV in Venice, where his teachers included Carlo Scarpa. In 1949 he joined Frank Lloyd Wright’s Taliesin Fellowship, then travelled across America to see the work of Mies van der Rohe and Richard Neutra.

From 1955 he shared a Milan studio with Angelo Mangiarotti, with whom he built the church at Baranzate and the via Quadronno apartment building, and in 1969 he founded Morassutti & Associati. Agapecasa now produces the Schwob coffee table the two designed in 1959 for Le Corbusier’s Villa Schwob.
