Erberto Carboni
Erberto Carboni (1899-1984) was born in Parma, where he studied architecture at the Accademia di Belle Arti, and moved to Milan in 1932. One of Italy’s great graphic designers, he created advertising campaigns for Olivetti, Shell, Motta, Rai, Barilla, Bertolli and Pavesi, as well as exhibition pavilions for the Milan Fair.
In 1954 he designed the Delfino armchair for Arflex, an organic shape inspired by nature. Late in life he turned to sculpture and painting, exhibiting at the Venice Biennale in 1972.
