Luigi Massoni

Luigi Massoni was born in Milan in 1930 and trained at the city’s Collettivo di Architettura. In 1957 he designed a cocktail shaker for Alessi with Carlo Mazzeri, then organised the founding of Mobilia, one of the first bodies promoting Italian design, and worked for Boffi, Fratelli Guzzini and Poltrona Frau. From 1962 he also edited the magazine Forme.

He worked with Gallotti&Radice from 1969, and in 1971 designed Adam, the company’s first table made entirely of glass, with a transparent top on fire-curved, hand-bevelled glass bases. He also helped Pierangelo Gallotti plan the company’s headquarters.
