Ron Arad

Ron Arad was born in Tel Aviv in 1951 and studied at the Jerusalem Academy of Art and the Architectural Association in London. He co-founded One Off in 1981, where his Rover chair launched his career, and Ron Arad Associates in 1989; his designs include the Bookworm shelf for Kartell, and he led Design Products at the Royal College of Art from 1997 to 2009.

For Poltronova he designed the Split extendable table in 1990, among his first pieces made by another company: a resizable top of slats in various woods on arched legs of brushed steel.
