Werther Toffoloni
Werther Toffoloni was born in Udine in 1930 and studied in Venice. He taught industrial design and worked as an artistic consultant. With the architect Piero Palange he founded Studio TiPi, and two of their chairs for Montina were selected for the 1960 Milan Triennale. He died in 2017, aged 86.
At Billiani his projects ensured the bond with tradition. Vincent V.G. (2007) draws on the chairs in Van Gogh’s paintings, Cafè (2008) reinterprets the classic tavern chair, and Gradisca (2013) was created for a tribute exhibition at the Luigi Spazzapan gallery in Gradisca d’Isonzo.
