Baxter
Leggia Open-Air Armchair
Antonino Sciortino’s Leggia outdoor armchair is a perfect synthesis of leather know-how and formal purity. Its minimalist design expresses timeless elegance: a tubular structure in black powder-coated stainless steel delicately supports a suspended seat that seems to float in the air. The leather – Aku for Outdoor and Hydro for Open-Air – withstands the elements and naturally hugs the body, offering enveloping comfort and a sense of visual lightness. The large, curvy seat invites relaxation, making every moment in the open air an all-embracing sensory experience.

Baxter
Launched in Italy on January 1990, Baxter is the combination of experience and passion, a sense for business, a desire not to follow the rules, and the spirit and feeling evoked by the Made in Italy philosophy. Describing Baxter as “the story of encounters, ideas, but above all of people”, founders Luigi Bestetti and his nephew Paolo Bestetti began their journey towards the contemporary by pursuing "the freest expressiveness”.
Antonino Sciortino
Antonino Sciortino was born in 1962 in Bagheria, near Palermo, and learned the blacksmith’s trade at eight in his brother’s workshop. He then trained in dance in Palermo and became a television dancer and choreographer, choreographing for Ricky Martin and Julio Iglesias.
Approaching forty, he returned to iron and in 2003 opened his workshop on Via Savona in Milan. He now lives and works between Milan and Noto, forging furniture, lighting, objects and sculpture. For Baxter he designed the Ginestra Vestita chaise longue and chairs, the Girgenti sofa and the Leggia and Tia seating.
